Two weeks ago, Eric finally said sayonara to Menards!! bye-bye, cheerio, good day, so long, adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen! It has been a great, steady job for the past 1.5 years, but the nights and weekends were really beginning to wear on us. We rarely had dinner together or saw each other before 10:30pm, and his days off were often during the week when I was working. Not to mention that 50% of his weekends were sworn away at the moment he signed on. It was okay for a season, and we are very grateful for the experience that Menards provided, but needless to say, we are excited for this new chapter!
Eric was offered a position for a friend that is a franchise owner in a company called
Squeegee Squad. He will be washing windows all summer! It has already proven to be satisfying outdoor work, that tires a person out by the end of the day, and has the super added bonus of nights and weekends off. He's loving it! Not to mention his boss is awesome :) (Joe and his wife are good friends of ours and are involved in our church 'small' group.)
Overall, this new chapter has been great! We leave at about the same time in the morning and still have evenings to spend eating dinner
, hitting the gym, or hanging out with friends. All luxuries of this new schedule! No one is saying our situation is forever, but we are grateful for what the Lord has provided for this new season in life, however long it may be.
