Long December

a
'It's been a long December and there's reason to believe,
Maybe this year will be better than the last.
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself,
To hold on to these moments as they pass.'
Counting Crows

Actually, December flew by, but I'm feeling nostalgic and love the song 'Long December' by Counting Crows. December was pretty action packed, including cookie exchanges with old friends, Christmas parties with new friends, and plenty of traveling, eating and celebrating. One highlight was an impromptu trip with my bud Jenna, to visit a good friend from high school, Amy, who now lives in Denver. This was my first time to the mountains, and the Rockies did not let me down! We drove around and saw Breckenridge and Vail ski resorts, Estes Park, the Stanley hotel from the Shining, and ended in Boulder, with a lot of eating and shopping in between. We did almost everything we could think of in one trip, thank you Amy for being an awesome hostess!

Christmas was merry, we saw both families over the holiday and celebrated throughout the month with almost everyone we could think of. We enjoyed a relaxed New Years Eve with our friends and eventually concluded our Short December. Happy 2011! Here's to surrendering every day of it to the Lord, and treasuring these moments as they pass.
