Speaker and writer Terry Esau spoke at our church today about his book 'Surprise Me God' which came from a personal journey that he found himself on. It was a simple prayer that he spoke each morning as he set out for the day, and surprise surprise, God did big things. Terry's findings are focused on the idea that we get caught up in our busy lives and often bypass the amazing opportunities that God has for us each day. We miss the people, stories and opportunities to touch lives that God may have intentionally placed in our path, because we get too busy with our self focused agendas.
I feel challenged to pray this prayer each morning. To let go of my plans, goals, and priorities for the day to say... 'God, Surprise me!'
