the David Crowder Band concert

We were incredibly lucky to attend the David Crowder Band concert on October 22, 2009 and had to share a few words and pictures from the occasion. DCB (for short :) is a Christian band that has grown strongly in popularity over the past couple years, to the point of being one of the most well known and loved bands in their genre. They are known for hits such as 'Here is our King', "There is No One like you', 'Open Skies,' 'Wholly Yours,' and their current hit "How He loves.' These hits are amongst the top played on Christian radio and are even included in worship services all over the country.

As for us, they are probably considered Eric's favorite band (top five for me), and we had been hoping to see them in concert for a couple of years, even thinking about a weekend road trip to Des Moines to catch one of his tours. We found out about two months ago that the high school youth group we've been working with at Rockpoint church was going to have a group attend the Oct. 22 concert at Hosanna church in Lakeville, MN. We committed to going and by some miracle (and the grace of God!) Eric had one of his elusive nights off on that very night. We all met at the church to head down to Lakeville, and ended up with a back seat full of 15 year old girls that wanted to ride with us.. hehe :)

The concert was amazing, an incredible time of 'rocking out' and praising God to some of our favorite hits as well as many new songs from his newest CD. DCB is known for using all sorts of funky beat makers and electronic noises as well as some intense guitar solos and chest bumping bass. We were able to leave our seats and be right in front of the stage, feeling the industrial speakers pump into our souls. :) :) (No permanent hearing damage mom.) Here are a few pics and a short video of one of his current hits on the radio. The sound quality is horrible from a digital camera, but you get the idea.

This is David Crowder, the man himself...
He gets a lot of comments for his weird hair and goatee.

Lisa and I, after jumping around and sweating with the high school kids most of the night. We have been so lucky to find her and her husband, Brad; another twenty something couple who works with the high school kids and attends our 'young married couples' small group.
